Anti-bullying poster winners
Mon 19 Nov 2018All children in the school were invited to enter the anti-bullying poster competition on the theme of 'choose respect'. We had chosen a child from each class to be an Anti-bullying Ambassador and one of their most important jobs was to help choose the winners of the poster competition. There were so many wonderful entries and it was clear that children had put enormous effort and thought into them, which made it very hard to choose. In the end, the ambassadors chose the posters that had something a little different from the others on them.

Odd Socks Day
Mon 12 Nov 2018On 12th November 2018, St Joseph's celebrated the start of anti-bullying week with an 'Odd socks day'. Many children came into school with socks of many colours and patterns to celebrate diversity and difference. We are all very proud of the anti-bullying work that the school does - keep it up everyone! Parents will today receive information about anti-bullying and what to do if you suspect your child or someone else is being bullied. 'Your School Lottery' is the UK’s ONLY lottery organisation DEDICATED to helping schools raise money. This is an opportunity for staff, parents, families and the community to make a huge difference to our school. We believe that 'raising money within the community for the community' is a great way for everyone to benefit. All monies raised for the school is used to help improve educational facilities for your children.
Cost = £1/week for the chance to win a guaranteed weekly prize (the more members, the bigger the prize).

Year 6 Residential to Isle of Wight
Tue 30 Oct 2018On Monday 8th October, pupils from Year 6 embarked on the annual residential trip to PGL in the Isle of Wight. During our visit – via an exciting ferry trip across the Solent – the children took part in a host of fun and challenging activities such as archery, trapeze, climbing, all aboard, quad biking, giant swing and the dreaded sensory trail! They had to use a range of skills including communication, co-operation and resilience. The children took part in all the activities with real enthusiasm and seem to have grown in confidence having confronted their fear of heights, learnt the best way to support and encourage one another and to look after themselves while away from home, sometimes for the first time."The Isle of Wight trip was lots of fun due to the fact that most of the children had not done activities like this before, making it a new opportunity for most of them." - Grace"It was the BEST week of my life" - Ana

WOW Challenge
Tue 16 Oct 2018At St Joseph's Catholic Primary School we are proud to be an active school, following on with this tradition we are encouraging all our pupils and staff to walk to school. Each class will be taking part in the WOW Challenge - Walk On Wednesdays, every child who walks on wednesday will receive a point for their class and this will be tracked on a chart in their classroom. At the end of each month our Junior travel ambassadors will count up the points from each class and announce the walking to school trophy winners.

Athlete Of The Week
Tue 16 Oct 2018Congratulations to Fabio in Y5 who became the 1st winner of our Athlete of the Week trophy. The trophy has been designed to credit children who show outstanding qualities in PE throughout the week. The qualities which we look for to beome athletes are focus, commitment, energy, desire, pride & passion. Fabio has worked extremely hard this week on improving his gymnastics and has taken great pride in his performances. Well Done !!

Year 4 Girls Football Festival
Mon 15 Oct 2018Our budding year 4 girls football team had an amazing afternoon at Kew Association last week. Many of them have been attending Girls football club at school with Mr Ford and this was a great chance to test out their skillls against other schools. The girls played brilliantly throughout the afternoon playing 4 games winning 3 and losing 1. All the girls played amazing with two year 3's also playing up a year it was a great team effort. Special mention to top scorer Elizabeth and also to Y3 Annabeth who manged to scored a goal in her first football competition in KS2.

Y2 Football Festival
Mon 24 Sep 2018The year 2 football festival is a great event which we attend every year this year there was 26 different schools attending. Children got the chance to play 6 matches against 3 other schools. The players got better and better throughout the day and scored lots of goals and tackles. The idea is to offer them a positive footballing experience to enjoy further events in the future.

Y5 Girls Kingston football competition
Mon 24 Sep 2018The first KSSP sporting event of the year took place on Tuesday 11th September, the girls have had very little time to prepare for this event and had to rely on all the hard work they had done last academic year. Nevertheless the girls preformed brilliantly and gave it their all. The standard was very high with more and more girls playing football locally in the borough. Despite not qualifying for the next round the Girls represented the school extremely well and can be proud of their improvements throughout the competition.

Year 3 Girls Football Festival
Wed 11 Jul 20187 lucky year 3 girls got to represent the school at a wonderful year 3 girls football festival hosted by Surbiton High School. The festival was a brilliant success hosted at amazing facilities in Hinchley Wood. The girls played amazing throughout the day and got better and better as the day went on. They played 6 games in total and managed to score lots of goals and work well as a team.
