Nursery were very excited to welcome 11 eggs on Monday. They arrived in their incubator where they were being kept nice and warm. By Tuesday morning, 10 chicks had hatched from the eggs and slowly but surely, the 11 eggs hatched during the week.
All of the classes were able to meet them and everyone has been super 'egg'cited by their arrival.
We are currently taking applications for our Nursery for September 2026 and January 2027. Please contact the school office for more information. Application and supplementary forms can be downloaded from the Admissions Section of the website.
Please see the final version of our Ofsted Report following their visit in July under Key Information tab.
As you know, this was an ungraded inspection, which means that the grade could not change on this occasion. We are very proud of the many positives it contains and found the inspector really took the time to get to know and understood our school very well. Some of the lovely phrases included are:
Pupils enjoy coming to school, they feel safe and attend regularly. They feel part of the school’s ‘close-knit’ community.
The school has high expectations for pupils and they achieve well at school.
Pupils behave well, they respond positively to the school’s rules and routines.
Leaders promote pupils’ spiritual development particularly well.
The school makes sure that pupils are taught an ambitious curriculum.
Teachers have strong subject knowledge.
Staff enjoy working at the school. They really appreciate how leaders help them to manage their workloads.
There always has to be an area for development - ours centres around refining our training for staff to ensure children are remembering subject content and can make connections in and across subjects in the longer term. We are already working with staff to help us to achieve that, but for us, the community we have at St Joseph’s and our happy, successful and inquisitive learners are our greatest accolade!
Thank you to all of our families for your support and encouragement, both during the inspection and all year round. We feel that the report really reflects our happy loving community at school and we are very proud of how well our staff team serve our children and families! Thank you!
We have been fortunate in being chosen by Tesco Store as one of their community projects in order to raise funds to buy books for our newly refurbished library area. Please see below a list of stores taking part in the voting on our project. Feel free to share this list of stores amongst your friends and family.

St Joseph's have been busy preparing for Easter! Thank you to each and every one of you who designed and created such amazing bonnets and eggs for us all to enjoy in school. The judging was very hard! Please take a look at our pictures for a flavour of the talent we have in school.
Wishing you all a happy Easter!
Well done to everyone at Saint Joseph's for celebrating an exciting Science Week! Each class took part in at least one experiment during the week and then shared their learning in an assembly on Friday. The assembly ended with a live experiment to make elephant's toothpaste!

Congratulations to the staff for their hard work and dedication in ensuring our school was awarded a Good judgement at our most recent RE Denominational Inspection in November 2022. The report noted that:
"All staff are fully committed to the Catholic mission of the school and describe how it permeates school life: ‘the Catholic ethos is embedded across the whole curriculum.’"
"The school’s pride in the diversity of its pupils and families contributes to the sense of belonging and inclusion enjoyed by all pupils."
Please see the full report in our Catholic Ethos section.
On Friday 8th July we were invited by the previous Mayor of Kingston, Suahila Abraham, to be one of eight schools in the borough to be part of a visit from The Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, to Kingston. The visit was to mark the Queen's Jubilee and was centred around the Coronation Stone. Each school was asked to research one of the Anglo Saxon kings who were thought to be coronated at this spot. We were welcomed by the now Mayor and his wife as well as Lord-Lieutenant and were treated to some of the history of the area via various speeches. Prince Edward then walked around each of the schools talking to them about their king and our children did us proud talking about Ethelred the Unready, the last of the kings.
The Prince then went on to unveil a plaque to commemorate his visit as well as signing a guest book which was then signed by all visitors at the occasion, including our school.
It was so lovely to be invited to be part of such a special occasion and the children represented the school brilliantly.
We were very lucky to have a visit from the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kingston to our school, Councillor Sushila Abraham. She was accompanied by her mace bearer, Brian O’Sullivan, who was the nephew of a previous head of St Joseph’s! She spoke to the children in an assembly about her role as Mayor and answered lots of interesting questions from the children. She then enjoyed a tour of our lovely school. We thank her for taking the time to visit our school.
