Year 1

Hello Everyone and Welcome to the Year 1 Class Page!

Class Teacher: Ms Lam

Teaching Assistant: Ms Barbara and Ms Nawal

Please find useful websites below to engage your children at home

Home Learning

The children will be given Home Learning every Friday which will consist of a Spelling, Maths and English task. This is to be completed on the activity sheet. Home learning is due back the following Wednesday unless indicated otherwise.

Reading Books
All children will be given reading books and a reading record diary that they take home and share with an adult. Please support their learning by hearing them read every day for at least 15 minutes and sign their reading record once they have read. The children should bring their books into school everyday and they will have their books changed every Friday.

PE

Please ensure your child wears their P.E. kit into school on their P.E. days. Children are encouraged to wear tracksuit bottoms or leggings for outside PE lessons, particularly during the colder months.

Our PE days for this term are Tuesday (Outdoor) and Friday (Indoor).

Within our English lessons we have focused on a number of stories by different authors. We started with the Three Little Pigs by Axel Sheffler. After that, we moved onto Traction Man by Grey Mini and this term we will be focusing our attention on a story called Man on the Moon by Simon Bartram

RE

Within our RE lessons we have been learning about Belonging and what it means to belong. We are now moving onto the topic of Baptism.
