Year 6

Welcome to Year 6 Louis Sachar Class!

A very warm welcome back to our last year of Year 6! Mrs Taylor and I are excited to be back in school with the children for a very busy, but enjoyable, final year with you in St Joseph's. I will be putting as much information as I possibly can on the class page throughout the year for you to use.

Home Learning

Spellings will be handed out on Friday, ready for our spelling test the following Friday.  

 

 

Home Learning may consist of more than one piece of English and Maths.

 

Reading Books

All children have a reading book and reading record diary that they are encouraged to bring home and share with parents/carers. When they have finished reading their book, children are able to change them when they arrive at school each morning.

Please sign your name and write any comments each time you listen to your child read, and also when they have completed their book.

Children in Year 6 are expected to read at least 15mins daily, at least a chapter (or 10 pages) per evening. 

 

PE Days

We have PE on Thursday and Friday.

Children are required to wear their PE kit to and from school and are not advised to change in school. Please ensure children have their full kits on these days.

Year 6 - Meet the Teacher 2023/24

Year 6 had a fantastic time visiting the AELTC at Wimbledon, finding out about tennis in the Victorian era.
