  • Y6 Gym squad win Silver at Kingston borough gymnastics competition

Wed 13 Mar 2019 Mr Ford
Having worked with this talented group of gymnasts since Y3, Mr Ford was so proud to see them reach their potential by bringing home the silver medal at this years borough gymnastics. The Y6 team made up of Zofia, Savannah, Oliver & Curtis have been practicing since January for this big competition and the practice paid off as they performed amazingly well across all three disciplines. All 4 performed their floor routines with minor errors, body management was done exceptionally well and they all smashed their vault performances. They should be so proud of their achievements as that is the highest medal the school has ever recevied in gymnastics. Well done also to the Y3 & 4 team who also took part in the competition and done extremely well in their first ever competition.

  • Y5 & 6 BOYS INTO FOOTBALL DISTRICT CUP FINAL

Thu 28 Feb 2019 Mr Ford
What an incredible afternoon Mr Ford & the Y5 & 6 boys football team had yesterday at Molesey Fc, having progressed through previous rounds they faced a tough Ellingham team in the semi-finals. The settings could not have been better on a fine spring like afternoon, team SJP played some amazing football. The game plan was clear and every player understood their role within the team. Ellingham scored first from a well struck shot the sun appeared to be in goalkeeper Oli's eyes as the ball nestled into the bottom corner, not the start we had hoped for. The boys showed great character to pull a goal back after good link up play from Lucas & Elijah the ball fell to Kamil who hooked it past the Ellingham keeper to level the game. At 1-1 the game was very tense and it look some brilliant intelligent play to break the deadlock. Lucas & Kamil played an excellent give and go and Kamil was on hand to put SJP into the lead. At half time we led 2-1 and the boys came off buzzing, after a quick drink and some final instructions the 2nd half was much the same with SJP playing some great football. The 3rd goal was a stroke of luck as Ricardo took a long throw into the peanlty area where it hit an Ellingham defender and went in to make it 3-1. The boys then defended excellently as a team with solid performances at the back from Rommel & Matthew. A massive achievement to reach the final of the district cup which will now take place on 29th March we will face Corpus Christi in the final.
