Year 6

Welcome to Year 6 Louis Sachar Class!

 Class Teacher: Mr Bawn

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Taylor

A very warm welcome back to our last year of Year 6! Mrs Taylor and I are excited to be back in school with the children for a very busy, but enjoyable, final year with you in St Joseph's. I will be putting as much information as I possibly can on the class page throughout the year for you to use.

If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to email the school office at office@stjosephs.rbksch.org or the class email page on year6@stjosephs.rbksch.org and we will be happy to help.  All of the relevant information for PE and our termly timetables can be found below.

Home Learning

Homework for the children this year will come in the form of CGP activity books. These books will help reinforce the learning taking place during our working week. The children will be asked to complete at least 1 test per day, to be brought back in the following day to be marked as a class. Below is a rough timetable for what the homework schedule will look like, but will most likely change from day to day. I will keep the children informed of these changes as they happen.

Reading Books

All children have a reading book and reading record diary that they are encouraged to bring home and share with parents/carers. When they have finished reading their book, children are able to change them when they arrive at school each morning.

Please sign your name and write any comments each time you listen to your child read, and also when they have completed their book.

Children in Year 6 are expected to read at least 15mins daily, at least a chapter (or 10 pages) per evening.

PE Days

As it stands, we have PE on Tuesday and Friday.

Children are required to wear their PE kit to and from school and are not advised to change in school. Please ensure children have their full kits on these days.

No jewellery is permitted. Click on the link below to find out more information about our uniform.

Year 6 started the year off with the world famous 'Egg Drop Challenge!'. Although all eggs smashed, each group showed amazing team work and ingenuity. A great start to the year!
