Religious Education is at the very heart of our curriculum and it is embedded in all aspects of school life.
From this November, Religious Education will be taught using a new Catholic RE Programme called 'Lighting the Path' publish by Oxford University Press and approved by the Archdiocese of Southwark. The implementation of the new programme will be phased over the next two academic years.
Children in the Early Years and Key Stage One will be taught using Lighting the Path from this November, followed by all Key Stage Two classes in September 2026.
Lighting the Path follows a spiral curriculum which means that each year group follows the same broad theme, but the content differs depending on the age of the pupils.
Years Three, Four, Five and Six will continue to follow Come and See Programme until the implementation in September 2026. 'Come and See' is the programme of study that we use to support the Religious Education Curriculum Directory, from Nursery to Year 6.
