Last week saw a very busy week for the Y5 & 6 girls football team, on Tuesday they took part in the Kingston borough qualifiers. The event which took place at Chessington School was an opportunity for the girls to play against 5 other schools with the top two teams going through to the borough finals. The girls started very strong not conceding single goal in the 1st two games winning 1 and drawing 2.Tired legs saw them suffer defeat in the final two games resulting in a 3rd place finish and unfortunately missing out on a place in the finals.
On Thursday the girls where back in action in round 1 of the District Cup. They where drawn against St Paul's KH who they had previously played in the qualifier on Tuesday. The game was an excellent advert for girls football within the borough and eventually finished 3-2 to St Paul's KH who will go through to the 2nd round. The girls battled well and scored 2 fantastic goals from Lizzie, unfortunately St Paul's just edged the game and fully deserved their victory.
It wasn’t an ordinary day for Year 6 today as they spent the afternoon as Victorian children and experienced what school life might have been like for pupils 120 years ago! They dressed the part, sat in rows in the classroom and spent the afternoon participating in Victorian learning which included poetry recitals, handwriting, times tables and singing the national anthem. Miss Ready and Mrs Croucher could get used to the children standing whenever they enter the room. Well done everyone!
Reception and Nursery were very pleased to receive a visit from Perform on Wednesday 16th October. The children had a wonderful time exploring the theme of Castles, Knights and Princesses and using drama, dance and singing to help develop their confidence, concentration and social skills.

Last week saw a fantastic game of football on the Fairfield in round 1 of the Kingston District Cup. We welcomed Lime Tree to the Fairfield in what proved to be a very entertaining game. SJP started the game very strongly with two quick fire goals from Kamil that put them into an early lead. The game was a great display of football for primary schools and attracted a fantastic number of spectators. The 2nd half saw lots of goals for both teams with SJP just holding off the opposition to run out 4-3 winners. Big well done to player of the game Kamil scoring all 4 goals for St Joseph's. The boys will now face Castle Hill at home in the 2nd round of the district cup the full draw can be found here www.platformsportscoaching.co.uk/kingston-district-cup
Finally big thank you to Mr Bawn for giving up his time and preparing the boys for the game it was a fantastic effort and we wish them good luck in the next round.
Thank you for your support at the recent coffee morning. It was an ideal opportunity for parents to share ideas and to listen to talk by the Cambridge Road Regeneration Team. Further information on the proposed regeneration can be found at: www.cambridgeroadestate.com.
We would like to make improvements to our outdoor areas and have some great plans in place which are being led by one of our parents.
