All the children told their funniest joke and then each class voted for their favourite. Watch and laugh at the jokes performed by the winners of each class. We have quite a few comedians here at St Josephs.

We are extremely delighted to announce that St Joseph's pupils, staff and community raised an amazing £1,082.89 for Sport Relief!
We are so grateful for the response from all the pupils and parents this year we have smashed our original target of £500.
The week was a huge success with lots of activities taking place, a sport relief special Wednesday wake up kicked things off as children took part in fun physical activities to start their morning. Raffle tickets where sold all throughout the week as all staff took part in the Great St Joseph's Bake Off. The whole school turned red on Friday for our wear it red mufti day, then finally the whole school took part in a sport relief mile on the Fairfield to finish off an incredible week of fundraising.
A big well done to Mrs Chisholm who was the Great St Joseph's Bake Off Winner !!
Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed to this very successful day.
A huge, huge well done to all our pupils and their families for taking part and contributing to such a fantastic cause. This money will go towards transforming lives both here in the UK and in the world's poorest communities.
After numerous hours of practice the day had finally arrived for St Joseph's key steps 2 & 3 gymnastics teams. The competition which is a team event is a very prestigious competition that includes over 15 schools from Kingston. Teams consist of 2 boys & 2 girls from y3 & 4 and 2 boys & 2 girls from years 5 & 6. The event allows the children to compete in 3 strands of gymnastics floor routine, body management & vault. It is extremely intense competition with gymnasts performing in front of other children, judges & parent spectators. The key steps 3 team made up of Zofia, Savannah, Cameron & Oliver done extremely well and just narrowly missed out on the medals by 0.2 points. They eventually finished 5th place in the borough which is an excellent achievement for such a small school. The younger team consisting of Lorraine, Olumachi, Israel & Son Ming also done themselves proud in their first gymnastic competition finishing a respectable 6th place out of 15 schools. All the children can feel very proud of themselves and have gained valuable experience from the training & competition that they can take with them during future events.
At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School we are all really excited to be taking part in Sport Relief 2018! As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise money and change lives.

Thank you to the Mayor of Kingston for officially opening our new school library. The school celebrated World Book Day in style with the reveal of our brand new library space. With it’s jungle theme (voted for by the children), they can now explore the range of books offered whilst surrounded by tropical greenery and relaxing in the new seating area.

Team SJP took part in the Borough Netball competition and done extremely well, having been practising netball for 5 weeks during PE. The team felt very confident going into the competition. They got off to a great start beating both Green Lane and Knollmead in the first two group games. The deciding group game was against St Lukes, unfortunately St Joseph's lost out by 1 net losing 3-2. This meant that we finished the group in 2nd place and qualified for the plate competition. The plate competition required us to play 2 additional games with the chance of potentially playing in the plate final. St Josephs won both their additional games quite comfortably against Robin Hood & Fern Hill. This set up a plate final with St Mary's who had also been very unlucky to not have qualified for the main competition.
The plate final was an epic match of fast paced passing and excellent blocking and intercepting. It was a very tense game and eventually finished 2-2 in normal time. Overtime began with St Josephs winning the toss and having the centre pass. Within 30 seconds of overtime the ball was passed between Joel & Melanie and eventually Joel managed to keep his nerve and score the golden net, giving SJP the win.
