Marymount International School Enrichment programme
Some of our children from year five and six have the opportunity to spend Saturday mornings at Marymount International school. They learn English or Maths and then spend time in the Science Lab, playing sports in the sports hall, using the 3D printer or making items during DT lessons amongst other things.
Holy Cross Convent School-Lumwana, Zambia
Holy Cross Convent School is located in North Western Province of Zambia in the mining district called Kalumbila. The Holy Cross Sisters [Catholic Nuns] started running this school in May 2014 with the vision of providing Holistic Educational and Formation for Meaningful transformation of society. The school has a population of over 1200 learners covering the Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary levels of the Zambian Education System.
We were very excited to be asked to be a link school with Holy Cross Convent School; pupils from both schools have become pen pals and write letters to each other.
The aim of the project is for the children, from both schools, to become friends, to find more about what school life is like in different countries, what their local areas are like and whether hobbies/interests are the same even though they are from a different part of the world.
This is an exciting project to be part of and an amazing opportunity for the pupils of St Josephs.
