Story: My First Chinese New Year

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGghkuEMZl8

Activity: Chinese New Year celebrations often have a dragon dance. Put some music on and see if you can move like a dragon in time to the beat. Can you make up 5 actions that show how a dragon might move? Maybe you can ask a family member to join your dance and hold onto your shoulders, and then you could make a really long dragon!

Welcome to Alien School

Plan a tea party on the moon

for the aliens. You could draw

pictures or make snacks of

the food you want at the party.

Think about what kind of food

an alien might like - star biscuits,

rocket jelly or moon cheese balls,

the possibilities are endless!

Think about what the aliens

might do with the underpants.

You could tell a friend or

someone in your family.

You could even draw a picture

of what you think they use

the underpants for. Perhaps

you can make some

underpants for the Aliens.

What pictures, shapes,

patterns and colours do

you think the aliens would like?

Moon Rock Count and Throw

(tin foil balls) -  See poster below.

Can you pretend you’re on the

moon and throw rocks?

How many moon rocks can you

get into the bin?  You can make

it a competition with your family

or beat your score independently

by counting and writing down

your highest score. Do you

think it would be easier or

harder to throw rocks on

the moon?  What happens if you

take a step forward/back to throw

the rocks?

Make or draw your own planet.

Think about what shape and

colours it might be. What would

you call it? Use your phonics

sounds to write the name of the

planet. Ask a grownup to help

you write some words that

best describe your

planet.

Can you design your

own alien that can be

added to the story?

What colours will you use?

Will it be spotted or striped?

Will it have lots of

arms like Mr Krark? Or

maybe just one eye like Nogel.  It's your choice!

And try some space yoga too...!

Friday 29th January 2021

Find some pasta shapes - can you make a picture of a Spring flower out of them?

Go out for a walk with your family - can you spot any signs of Spring? When you get home, see if you can draw any of the things you spotted?

Have a lovely weekend and come back on Monday for some more stories and fun activities!

Hello everyone,

I hope you are ready to learn from home, we are really missing seeing you here at Nursery but thought it would be fun to do some of our normal activities even though we aren't together.  Please join in with our prayer, days of the week and what's the weather? Today’s story is ‘Thomas and James’. We are learning all about things that are cold, icy, snowy and wet so I hope you explored the snow yesterday!! Please have a go at some of the activities I am going to put up and then send me photos of what you do, I can't wait to see them!

Also have a go at your fantastic yoga on Cosmic Kids Yoga which is on You tube, see if you can listen really well and follow all the instructions, this is something you can do every day.

Make sure you go out and have a lovely walk in the outside, see what the weather is like and talk about what you see and feel. See if there is many snow or ice left.

Ask a grown up if you can go on the computer and play a game called Teach your monster to read, which is a fun way to keep learning your phonics and it is free if you use the computer.

https/ww.teachyourmonstertoread.com/

See you tomorrow  (on here).

Take care,

Mrs Jones
