Welcome to Year 5 Michael Morpurgo
Teaching assistant: Miss Ugbo
Summer 1 sees the start of our new topic, 'Benin' and the year 5 team are looking forward to hearing about how much you have learnt from your holiday research.
Year 5M have P.E. on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons. Please ensure children have their full kits in school on these days. No jewellery is permitted. Click on the link below to find out more information about our uniform.
All children have a reading book and a reading record diary that they are encouraged to take home and share with parents and carers. When they have read their book, children are able to change them when they arrive at school each morning. Please sign your name and feel free to write any comment each time you listen to your child read, and also when they have completed their book. Please try and listen to your child read daily at home.
Home learning is handed out every Thursday and needs to be handed back in to the class teacher on the following Thursday.
Please ensure your child is wearing full school uniform each day and ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name. Please see the uniform page for more details (see link below).
Earrings and Headbands
We do not encourage children to wear headbands. However, if they are worn in school (Black or blue only) the children will be asked to remove them during PE/Drama/Dance lessons for health and safety reasons. Likewise, children wearing stud earrings to school will either be asked to remove them themselves, or if recently pierced, must be covered with a plaster during any physical activity within the school day.
