Welcome to Anne Fine Year 4 class. Our topic for this half term is 'Living Things'. Please see attached document below to view the Medium Term Plan.
Spellings and Times Tables
These are given every Friday which must be learnt and practiced DAILY as we carry out a test the following Friday.
Maths and English home learning
Both are given out on Wednesday, to be in on the following Monday.
Along with the usual homework I also encourage children to complete a set of activities on Mathletics as well as play some of the games on 'Live Mathletics'. Please let us know if your child has problems accessing the internet so that we can ensure they have alternative homework!

Home Learning may consist of more than one piece of English and Maths.
All children have a reading book and reading record diary that they are encouraged to bring home and share with parents/carers. When they have finished reading their book, children are able to change them when they arrive at school each morning. Please sign your name and write any comments each time you listen to your child read, and also when they have completed their book. Children in Yr 4 F are expected to read at least 15mins daily.
We swim on a Friday morning. Please ensure that your child has packed their swimming clothes, towel and goggles. In the cold weather a swimming cap is ideal as it will keep their hair dry.
PE day is Thursday afternoon. Please ensure children have their full kits in school on this day. No jewellery is permitted. It is helpful for the children to have their PE in school from Monday-Friday in-case it may be needed.
We really appreciate all the hard work you do with your child at home, thank you.
Here are just a few reminders that may help over the year:
- 1. Thursday afternoon: Outdoor PE.
- 2. Friday morning: Swimming PE.
- 3. Homework is given out on Wednesday, to be in on the following Monday.
- 4. Spelling and Times Tables tests will be on Friday, whereby the next new spellings will be issued.
- 5. Please read with and have the children read to you daily. Reading records will be checked daily.
- 6. Please remind children that they need to be in full School Uniform, this includes a full PE kit.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to ask one of us at the end of the school day or make an appointment to speak to me through the school office.
