Hello and welcome to Ronda Armitage Year 2 class!
Your teacher is Mrs Munden and the class teaching assistant is Mrs Burnett.
Please see our Medium Term Plans for more information.
The children will be given Home Learning in a folder, every Thursday which will normally consist of Maths and English work, designed to help them practise the skills that they have been learning about in class. Home learning is due back the following Wednesday.
In addition, please help your child become confident with knowing the 10, 2, 5 and also 3 times tables, and the pairs of numbers that make 10, 20 and 100.
All children have a reading book/books and reading record diary, that they take home and share with an adult. Please support their learning by hearing them read every day. To help with their comprehension, I have sent home
example questions that you can use when you discuss the book with your child. Once they have finished a book it is really important that the adult who heard them read, sign their reading record book.
In Year 2, the children will be responsible for choosing and changing their own home reading books as often as necessary, but ideally they should do this at least twice a week. Please ensure that they always keep their reading record book and reading books in their school bag.
Please ensure your child has their named PE kit in school ALL WEEK. Children are encouraged to bring in tracksuit bottoms or leggings for outside PE lessons, particularly during the colder months. PE lessons are on Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning.
Please drop into our school library on Monday after school. Ali Keen our school home support worker will be on hand for an informal chat and to help you find a good book to read with your child.
In addition, we are always happy to have a quick chat with you after school if you have any queries. If we can't see you that day, we can arrange to see you sometime that week.
Have you joined Kingston Library yet? They offer a great selection of books and story books on CD and you can borrow them free of charge.
