Meet the Governors

The structure of St. Joseph's Governing Body is:

- Two Parent Governors

- The Headteacher

- One Staff Governor

- One Local Authority Governor

- Eight Foundation Governors

- One Co-Opted Governor

School governors have a wide range of responsibilities. They help to raise the standards of pupil achievement and plan the school's future direction. Governors are also accountable for the performance of the school to parents and the wider community. At St. Joseph's the Governing Body takes an active role and visits the school regularly.

Emma Piper

I was appointed Foundation Governor in June 2014 for a 4 year term by the Catholic Diocese of Southwark. I have one child at St Josephs. I have been a  governor for nearly three years and Chair of  Governors for the same amount of time.  St Josephs is a fabulous school with so much potential and I feel privileged to help the school go from strength to strength, both as a parent and a governor. I work as a Chartered Legal Executive in the Private Client department of a local firm of solicitors in Kingston.

As Headteacher of St Joseph's Catholic Primary school, I attend all committee and full governing body meetings. I joined the Governing Body as an Ex-Officio in September 2014 when I began my role at the school as Deputy  Headteacher.  Having previously been a governor at 2 other primary schools, I have had the experience to support with the strategic direction of the school.
